Requirements:
- Must live or relocate to the Syracuse, N.Y. area.
- Requires a 35 hour in office work week. Partial remote work schedule could be granted later.
- University degree in Computer Science or Equivalent.
- Full-stack developer who is proficient in both front-end and back-end development.
Role Description:
The Programmer position requires a full-stack developer who is proficient in both front-end and back-end development. This means they can build and maintain the user-facing website and web application(front-end) as well as the server-side logic and database interactions (back-end). Work involves development of computer applications that enhance, supplement or digitize existing systems to improve workflow and efficiency. You will work with inter-departmental stakeholders to discuss and develop data systems that fulfil their needs.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio Development tools.
- Experience in creating web applications using Microsoft ASP.NET technologies or other technologies that will run on a MS IIS server.
- Experience with Relational databases.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio tool.
- Experience with SQL Server databases and query language. Able to create queries and stored procedures.
- Experience with Crystal Reports is desirable but not essential.
Tasks and Activities:
- Conduct System Analyst functions. Work with inter-departmental stakeholders to understand their reasons and goals for the application. Create requirements for a new or existing application and transform that into a working functioning application.
- Use of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to create queries to extract data into spread sheets or into reports.
- Data manipulation and conversion, i.e. Conversion of flat files, spread sheets to SQL. Or SQL data exported into spread sheets.
- Analyze performance of programs during testing; define test schedules and data requirements.
