• Do I Need to Take a Civil Service Exam for Every Position?  Not all positions require an exam. Some are non-competitive or provisional and may allow you to start working while waiting to take the exam. Ask about our HELP Program.

NY HELPS Program

• The New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (NY HELPS) Program is a temporary initiative designed to expedite the hiring process for critical positions within state agencies. By waiving the traditional civil service examination requirements, the program enables agencies to swiftly appoint qualified individuals to permanent roles based on their experience and qualifications.
